Great Cocktail Sites

Meet Jeffrey Morgenthaler, Portland’s cocktail wizard and co-owner of Pacific Standard. Since 1996, he’s been shaking and stirring his way through some of the best bars, racking up James Beard Award nods. His blog and best-seller, The Bar Book: Elements of Cocktail Technique 🛟, spill his bartending secrets, and he’s penned pieces for Playboy and Imbibe. Jeffrey judges top cocktail competitions and has been dubbed one of America’s top mixologists. In 2018, he dropped “Drinking Distilled” and even showed off his flaming Spanish Coffee on Late Night with Seth Meyers. Cheers to Jeffrey!

Pseudo Juice: Brian Tasch over at Corpse Revived has whipped up a new kind of citrus juice substitute, leaning on the bold, aromatic zest from the citrus peels to bring the flavor forward. It extends shelf life and boosts the volume, making it a practical (and flavorful) alternative to fresh-squeezed without any risk of going flat.

Super Juice: Super Juice was initially crafted by Nickle Morris of Expo Cocktail Bar in Louisville, KY and was later modified by Kevin Kos. It is a way to get up to 8 times more juice per citrus and a boosted citrus flavor.
