JFK Harris

Sourced from Regarding Cocktails ๐Ÿ›Ÿ:

There was a recent study on the effects of alcohol on walking. The results were staggering!

Zachary Gelnaw-Rubin, hailing from Dutch Kills in Long Island, NY, threw caution to the wind and whipped up the JFK Harris cocktail. It’s basically the mojito’s edgy sibling. Wondering about the name? Well, Zachary took a page out of the book of his pal Julian Frederick Knipp Harris, who had this wild ritual of downing mint lemonade laced with red wine at brunch. And voila, a star was born! Oh, and guess what? I tried mine with Copalli Organic Cacao Rum ๐Ÿ›Ÿ, and it was absolute bliss!

JFK Harris

  • 2 oz light rum
  • 3/4 oz lemon juice
  • 3/4 oz simple syrup
  • 10 mint leaves
  • 1/2 oz red wine (to float)
  • Combine everything except the red wine in a shaker with ice (no need to muddle mint)
  • Shake until chilled
  • Fine strain into a double rocks glass over a single large cube
  • Slowly float the red wine on top

Alcohol: 14% Sugars: 15 g
